Atelier 21 is a unique school,
designed to offer an education fit for children’s futures.

As a pioneering future school, Atelier 21 serves as a catalyst for transforming education. Not only has our school been selected by ‘Big Education’ to be a part of the ‘Next Big Ten’ transformational project for schools developing innovative education practices. Our school is making a stir in the international educational landscape having been selected to speak on an international platform for the World Education Summit. We are also a part of Rethinking Assessment, a coalition of school leaders from across the state and independent sectors, joining leading researchers, key policy-makers, employers and higher education representatives in order to broaden and modernise assessment to fully and fairly prepare young people for a dynamic world.

Our school enables high levels of self directed learning, facilitates student agency and fosters innovation, curiosity and creativity which help young people compete, contribute and thrive in our ever-changing modern world.

Our school is the UK’s first Reggio Emilia inspired, inquiry-based learning, Future School for 4-16 years.

Please see our Early Years 0-5 page for our award winning nursery group.

We have chosen to deliver the International Baccalaureate (IB) in our senior school as a world leading recognised exam system which fits our school ethos and approach to learning. This ensures our pupils build 21st Century skills, a broader range of knowledge and interests and the dispositions that young people need to compete and thrive – on top of rocking exam results!

The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) is designed for pupils between the ages of 11 and 16. It is taught in 108 countries around the world and is accredited by Ofqual as having the same status as GCSEs and respected by universities in the UK and abroad.
